In a post on Xe (formerly Twitter) in Arabic and Urdu, Masri said, “After Iran, this time we are thinking about stopping Pakistan’s nuclear program.”
Although he currently does not hold any government position, Masri is considered influential among Israeli politics and strategy makers, especially as a senior member of the Labor Party. Masri also wrote in the post, “Pakistan is not far from Iran. This much is enough to understand.”
Masri’s comments were met with widespread reactions on social media. Many condemned his statement in favor of Pakistan.
